GIVEAWAY from Capital City Bakery
UPDATE 9/10 Giveaway is closed
If you haven’t been lucky enough to try Capital City Bakery‘s delicious treats, part of me thinks that your better off for never having known true bliss. I first met the owner, Kristen, through putting on bake sales in Austin. Not only would Kristen always donate a generous amount of cupcakes, but, they were also the most tasty and the most beautiful of all the cupcakes at the sale. She made it super easy to raise a ton of money for all sorts of good causes. When she started her own bakery trailer I couldn’t have been more thrilled because this meant access ALL THE TIME. The trailer has been such a success that she has plans to open a full on brick and mortar store and they are going to have Sunday brunch too! There is even a kickstarter which you should totally contribute too (one of the prize packages is specifically for out of towners) or watch the movie to learn all about it and see how cute she is! Or you can follow her on instagram if you like being tortured with food porn.
Capital City has been generous to giveaway a couple of her glorious brownies for you veganmofo-ers! These are the same brownies that were at Vida Vegan Con this year and you will have one bite and say, “What the hell makes the brownies so decadently good”? Kristen says it’s magic and I pretty much believe her.
TO ENTER all you have to do is comment below with a link to someone’s veganmofo post that has a recipe for brownies, blondies, or any other delicious baked good. It doesn’t have to be one of yours but it does have to be from 2013’s veganmofo and you must have a US address to send the brownies too. Two lucky winners will be chosen randomly out of eligible posts at noon CST 9-10-2013

The husband brought me some donuts from Capital City Bakery when he visited Austin this summer. They were so tasty I can only imagine how magical these brownies are.
As for the post, imma go with these cookie cupcakes from vegan kid, because they’re the perfect thing to cover up my amateur frosting job: http://vegankid.blogspot.com/2013/09/vegan-mofo-day-2-cookie-cupcakes.html

I mean, this chocolate buckwheat something looks AMAZING and it’s gluten-free, which means I can eat it. I would love to win Capital City’s brownies and give them to my gluten-eating, non-vegan parents in Austin to help encourage them to make the earth-loving switch.
Capitol City Bakery’s brownies are the best!
And in gluten free mofo news…

Thanks to randomofo.com I stumbled upon this recipe
http://vkreesphotography.com/lemoncake/
I love all things lemon. and coconut. and berries, and am smitten with how she presented the recipe. The only thing better than that cute type on my screen would be Capital City brownie in my belly!
I love brownies! My favorite recipe so far is Manifest Vegan’s GF brownie but I don’t think that’s a current mofo post. For current 2013 postings then, I love reading Baker Bettie’s blog http://bakerbettie.com/best-vegan-recipes-vegan-mofo-2013/
Nothing has kept me up at night more than the desire to make Mihl’s marble cake with buttercream IMMEDIATELY. http://seitanismymotor.com/2013/09/donauwellen-vegan/
It looks as incredible as the Capital City brownies taste 🙂
So nice of Kristen to give these magical brownies away! Thanks!
I am a super, super fan of lemon curd. And frankly I may use this recipe just to make lemon curd to eat with a spoon. http://deerlybelovedbakery.blogspot.com/2013/09/lemon-curd-almond-and-golden-raspberry.html

I heard about all the delicious things at Capital City on Vegan Snack Attack podcast, they sounded delicious! Even though I’ll be in my kitchen tonight baking (well,, if I can get enough studying in), I’m always up for a chocolate hit of inspiration!
Say, for example, some black & white cookies from http://cakeordeathcreations.blogspot.com/2012/11/another-mother-runner.html
Haven’t had a chance to make these yet, but they sound awesome.
