Food for Lovers Queso and Chips Giveaway!
The queso goes to adriennefriend who said:
I would definitely use this queso to smother some kind of casserole – instead of making my own cheeze, which is usually what happens! 🙂

The first time I bought Food For Lovers queso, I deeply regretted only buying two jars. This originally started as an amazing recipe on the internet, and Chris and Crystal eventually started selling to restaurants in Austin, then to Austin Whole Foods. Now you can mail-order jars, and I’ve even purchased their queso from my local health food store in Maryland.
This dip is everything queso should be. It’s spicy, creamy, and full of chunks of tomatoes and peppers. It’s great straight out of the jar, or poured over nachos, tacos, pasta, tofu scramble, and anything else you can think of.
One lucky winner will get four jars of queso and chips. Just leave a comment telling us how you’d like to use the queso. Don’t forget to include your email!
A winner will be chosen at random around 10pm EST. This is open to U.S. residents only.
We’re planning other giveaways that will include our international readers, so stay tuned! The giveaway crew has worked really hard to make this month amazing!

How would I use this queso? Well…..
Nachos, from the jar, on bean burritos, on a taco salad, poured over a regular salad… It seems endless to me!
I’d use it on tofu scramble, tacos/nachos (of course!), hot soft pretzels right out of the oven (omg yum), ooh and streamed broccoli!
I’d love to use it on nachos! Mmmm.
1st, I’ll probably just try it with tortilla chips and then if it’s yummy, on a tofu scramble sandwich 🙂
On machos, burritos, tacos…yum
Burritos!
I’d like to try it on a pizza! (Then again, I say that about everything…)
I want to try this on everything!! But I especially would love to make nachos with it!
I’d pour it over a tasty bean and tomato burrito.
yum! Nachos and Tofu scramble!
@EverydayTasty
Enchilada casserole! Maybe I’m super hungry, but that sounds AMAZING right now.
Spoon it out of the jar? And I would also use it as the sauce for a mexican style potato/soyrizo gratin! mmm
I would actually like to just use the queso with some chips for some good ol’ nachos. Mmmm 🙂
a refried bean, queso, potato burrito- a la taco bell!
tacos, nachos, mexican pizzas
in soups or chilis
on veggies/dip for veggies
cheese toast!
ooooh, add some crumbled vegan sausage for an even better dip!
maybe a mexican-style fondue?
who knows, the possibilities are endless 😀
My favorite way to use queso is on nacho chips and tacos. I would also like to try it on a veggie burger and maybe on some vegetables. 🙂
I love vegan queso on sandwiches! YUM!
Can I get on the list for Vegan MoFo?

I can’t wait to try this!!! I will plan an entire party around this queso with lots of Mexican inspired treats. 🙂
I’d use it in a casserole mac and cheese style bake thing with pasta and veggies. Oh man, just thinking about it is making me hungry.
I would veganize machaca! In El Paso, TX, machaca is a breakfast dish consisting of shredded beef smoothered with chile con queso.
I would probably keep 1 jar (or 3) to myself.. And then use what’s left to make all my omnivorous doubter friends question their life choices.
I would:
* Make Nachos
* Pour it on burritos (or in them)
* Make vegan mac & cheese
* Add salsa to it for a nice spicy dip!
In my mouth! But what strikes me is that it would be good for a spicy quinoa scramble, with lots of other veggies (think asparagus, onions, bell peppers), with the queso to hold it all together!
Straight dipping.
I’m in vet school and spend an awful lot of time studying. Looks like a perfect chip & dip study snack to me!
Nachos, nachos, and more nachos!
For starters, right out of the jar with chips!
Where in MD did you find it?
Mexican fondue!
Other than nachos and tacos, I’d use the queso to top a baked potato stuffed with broccoli.
I would be happy munching on queso-dipped chips and veggies…but I’d love to make vegan chili queso fries or cheesy roasted potatoes. Ooh queso and pretzels, perhaps?
I could just suck this queso up with my smoothie straw…but to be be civilized, I’d use it on some homemade vegan enchiladas! It’s delicious!

I lived in Texas for 10 years and I miss queso and chips!
Bean and cheese taco for sure
Yum! I’d love to use it on a big, elaborate, dinner-sized plate of nachos.
On seitan tacos w/ roasted peppers and onions; on black bean nachos; and over pinto beans, roasted kale, and rice. On pretty much everything!!
Burritos!!! Or breakfast! Or breakfast burritos?
Definitely nachos! I have not had those in ages.
I’d love to use this on nachos, in a baked potato, over brown rice and veggies, and in a mac & nocheese recipe (only using the queso and some daiya instead of dairy) — now I’m hungry! 🙂

First, I would bathe in it and lick it off of myself like a cat. Then, after awakening from my vegan queso coma, I would drizzle it all over all my favorite steamed veggies, especially broccoli, and then with the last bit I would make myself a vegan 7-layer chip dip … 😮
(I am now dehydrated from salivating so damn much.)
I want that Cheese.
I love to eat it on my baked potatoes!
Why I’d drizzle that delicious queso on top of the vegan sweet potato tamales I just made for day one of Vegan Mofo 2011 of course!
I’d love to tell you that I would have all sorts of creative ideas but I know I would just heat it up and dip chips in it, or pour it over them, nacho style. Maybe some seasoned black beans and a little guacamole or cashew crema to dress things up a bit. Oh and pickled red onions on top.
I would make sure my weekly vegan potluck was structured around this queso, I’m sure it would be amazing on spinach enchiladas or loaded nachos!
1. vegan hash mash with mexican chipotle field grain sausage crumbles, wildwood tofu, jalapenos, black beans, pico de gallo and leftover tater tots.
2. nachos.
3. chili-cheese fries.
4. and the fourth to send in a care package to chile.
I’d use it as a dip for tortilla chips. But really, what WOULDN’T I use it on (almost!)…..nachos, tofu scramblers, macaroni and “cheese”, “meat” loaf, tacos, burritos, etc.
I would use it on many things but potato dishes like fried potatoes and onions, which become “Smothered Potatoes” with salsa and queso are the first to come to mind. Also as part of a baked potato bar with other good things like broccoli, green onions, sauteed mushrooms etc.
NACHOS!!
My first thought was nachos, but mac and cheeze would be pretty awesome too.
With nachos, in burritos, with a tortilla quesadilla style, with veggies, over rice! Sounds good!
delicious, creamy mac and cheese! The good baked kind with bread crumbs on top, and broccoli! That nacho cheese stuff makes for incredibly awesome vegan mac and cheese. Although it does also make really good nachos…..I guess with four jars I could probably make both! =)
I LOVE this stuff and love that I can get it almost anywhere here that I want! (gotta love how Austin loves to support local food!)
Though its amazing enough just as chips and dip, I think it’d be fantastic on top of Crystal’s vegan king ranch casserole
I’m totally a nacho-holic so I would use it on nachos!! And lots of them!!
I need to find a great vegan queso!
I would use this queson on the next veg taco & nacho night!
I’m thinking over enchiladas. Maybe steamed broccoli enchiladas. Yes.
Since becoming vegan in April, one food I’ve yet to “veganize” is Mexican food, and I’ve love to make some autumnal enchiladas in the near future! 😀
I would definitely use this queso to smother some kind of casserole – instead of making my own cheeze, which is usually what happens! 🙂
Broccoli and Cauliflower for the kids!!! For sure.
nachos, nachos, nachos!
I’d use it to make enchiladas!!! YUMMY!!
Jonny O and I love this nectar of the gods! One of the Vegan Wagoneers gave us a jar and we devoured it with chips. We were excited to learn that our local Wegmans in PA carries it!
I wouldn’t get to eat much of this if I won, my omni cheese-fiend boyfriend is in love with this queso. It would be gone before I got a second helping, he’ll be on his 6th!
On quesadillas!!!! Yummy!
I have always wanted to try this stuff! I would use it over veggies, on nachos, on a spoon, on a fork, to brush my teeth…I love me some cheesy stuff!!
Courtney
Applied directly to my mouth.
Did anyone else just catch man vs food the other day? Big fancy gooey nachos-I know I’m pregnant so everything looks delicious but yumm! I’d make nachos with plops of guacamole, vegan hamburger crumbles, chopped onion and jalepanos-just like on the show. Huge and overdone 😀
I’d love to try it with some fresh corn chips!
Queso! I so love Queso! Loved Austin for the fact that restaurants had vegan Queso.
Nachos, enchiladas, [your favorite mexican creation here]. I would love to pour some vegan queso over the top! 🙂
I’d make vegan nacho platters and throw a party
Nachos. ‘Nuff said.
I got my first jar of queso at Vida Vegan Con, and was surprised by how delicious it was. I put it on chili — what am I saying — I put it on everything!
I’d like to use this queso smothered over some nachos, salsa, and refried beans!
I would love to use queso on a yummy fried Mexican rice with beans, tomatoes and cilantro plus some soy curls!
I drink it straight from the jar !
I LOVE this stuff .
Best. Queso . Ever .
Thank you
I would love to try it for chili cheese fries! One of my favorites right now is on a baked potato.
Oh man, that queso would make my burritos so much better! I would love to use it on nachos, too.
Different ideas wouldbe to put on baked sweet or white potatoes, and think it would be great to spread on whole wheat tortilla, than add black bean/rice mixture and make a wrap.
I use it as bait for my partner, who drinks it straight from the jar
yum, nachos for sure!
I’d use it to make nachos!
haha, if i don’t eat it all straight out of the jar, i’ll probably spread it on a little bit of everything. that stuff is delicious!
I would put it on chickpea crepes filled with adzuki bean and purple potatoes. After the vegan queso, I’d add a tomato chutney as well. Yum!
I’d love to try this on black bean burritos, enchiladas, over tots sprinkled with chili powder, onion rings… so many possibilities! 🙂
I would use it to make Broccoli and cheese stuffed baked potatoes or cheese stuffed baked potatoes.
