And how about these hassalback potatoes!  Yes please!

@samanthacooksvegan

Tacos are perfect, whatever the season!

Thank you so much for all your contributions to the three MiniMoFo challenges – we’ve really enjoyed seeing what you’ve been making.  And now it’s only one more week until the most exciting month of the year!  Make sure you’re following us on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram so we can remind you of the daily themes and you can check out what your fellow vegans have been creating.  And stay tuned for the 2016 Blogroll, coming soon!

Can you believe it’s already time for the third MiniMoFo challenge?  We’ve really enjoyed seeing all your mouthwatering contributions so far, and hope you’re all feeling suitably warmed up for the main event now.  (Reminder:  signups are open right now, make sure you’ve registered for November!)

Just to remind you, this is a voluntary warm-up exercise for MoFo proper, and you can participate in any way you like.  Here’s how it works:

  • We’ll share a challenge, you’ll have two weeks to make and share a dish using the #MiniMoFo tag on Instagram, Twitter, Facebook, or comment here with a link to your blog. That’s it!
  • We’ll feature your dishes as we go and do a round-up at the end of each challenge.
  • You don’t have to do the MiniMoFo challenges to participate in VeganMoFo.
  • You can participate in MiniMoFo and not in the full month.
  • No sign-ups are required!

Challenge 3:  Make something to welcome Autumn/Fall

October 11 – October 24

This fortnight, make something using that fresh autumnal produce.  We’re hoping to see lots of squash, pumpkin, maybe even some Halloween treats!  (If it’s not Autumn where you are, show us your Spring dishes instead.)

Whatever your angle, remember to use the #MiniMoFo hashtag and share your post with the rest of the community!

Everyone loves pulled jackfruit and sweet potato fries!  Susan was inspired by Celine from Have Cake Will Travel.

@zsus_vegan_pantry

mm-round-up-2-3

Zsu is crushing on garlic, and a slice of this pizza will definitely keep the vampires at bay!

@yixzyy

mm-round-up-2-4

Emma, like so many of us, is crazy about Isa Chandra Moskowitz and made this sandwich from a bargain buy of Isa Does It.

@zuckerbaby.1

mm-round-up-2-5

Zuckerbaby was inspired by the Messy Vegetarian Cook and made this angel hair pasta with creamy kim chi, shimeji and oyster mushroom sauce.

Herbivores’ Heaven

ms-cupcakes

Jenny’s food crush is the divine Ms Cupcake – and don’t these cupcakes look lovely?

@Lisasprojectvegan

minimofo1

Lisa’s food crush is also Isa Chandra Moscovitz, and she made her Chickpea Picatta – and how amazing is her vegan fork?!

Vegan à Montréal

minimofo2

Vegan à Montréal crushes on Terry Hope Romero, and makes the interestingly titled “Mermaid’s Picnic Salad with Seahorse Ranch Dressing” from Terry’s book, Salad Samurai.

My Apologies for the Novel

mm-round-up-2-6

Julie made this fantastic chickpeas and dumpling dish from her crush, Hannah Teson of House Vegan.

@femmefocale

Uh, how amazing do these donuts by Vegan Doll House look? They’re inspired by Vicky Liu, and are made to look like cute little narwhals!

Challenge 2:  Who’s your “foodie crush”?

September 27 – October 10

This fortnight, make something by a vegan chef or blogger you really admire.  Will it be one of the big-hitters like Isa, Terry or Chloe?  Will it be another member of the Vegan MoFo community?  The choice is yours!

Nicole gave us her current favourite dish:  Israeli couscous, sausages, apples, sweet potatoes and spring onions.  Bonus points for the homemade sausage!

@dimsimkitty

mm-round-up-5

Don’t you feel healthier just looking at this green bowl from Susan?  The blue cheese dressing on top sounds incredible!

@odilejp

mm-round-up-7

Just look at this rainbow salad!  This is definite inspiration for the multicoloured prompt on Day 15 of Vegan MoFo.

@tartesandrecreation

mm-round-up-6

If your signature dish is curry, I definitely want to be friends with you!  This roasted red pepper, chickpea and spinach curry looks spectacular, and perfect to share.

And finally, this round up is a good way to introduce you to your Vegan MoFo organisers this year.  We’re all so excited about MoFo that we had to get involved and tell you our signature dishes too!

Walks, Talks & Eats
